Gilded Cage

Dust dances in the golden light

A gilded cage dressed up as night

Jasmine hangs with old regret

A whispered promise I can’t forget

I sold my soul for just one glance

A flash of fire, a stolen dance

The mirror shows what’s left of me

All the choices I can’t unsee

Rain falls on a nameless road

Echoes hum beneath the load

Broken vows I never lost

Still counting out the cost

These walls lean in, a silent plea

To break these chains and let me be

But darkness says, “Just stay the same”

This shelter’s built on a poisoned name

They gave me warmth, they pulled me close

A safe disguise I needed most

But underneath, the truth remains

Love like this still leaves a stain

Rain falls on a nameless road

Echoes hum beneath the load

Broken vows I never lost

Still counting out the cost

I’m tired of shadows, borrowed light

Painted smiles in dying nights

I want the rain across my skin

I want the truth to pull me in

We built our home on shifting sand

Same old scars, a steady hand

Caught inside a restless dream

Chasing what we used to be
